In 1914 the world went to war… As Imperial Germany invaded France, hoping to gain a quick victory and have the bulk of its forces Home by Christmas, it allocated few formations to protect East Prussia against the lumbering bear.
Tsarist Russia, mobilising faster than Germany expected, launched a massive assault on East Prussia and Germanies ally, Austria-Hungary. Over the next 3 years, the fronts moved back and forth, with mobility the norm not the exception. The Eagle and the Bear is the TFWW game covering WW1 in the East in its savage fury, with hundreds of divisions slugging it out for supremacy across Poland, Galicia, Ukraine and eventually Romania.
